IGNOU's Applied Sign Language Course A Big boost For Hearing Impaired
The Bachelors program in Applied Sign Language of Indira Gandhi National Open University's (IGNOU) has become a big boost for hearing-impaired students. This program has been launched earlier this year and 30 hearing-impaired students enrolled for the course. Ms.Sheena Kaul, a 20-year-old student, who is enrolled for the course, said she wants to become a filmmaker after her graduation. Mr. Ramanujam, director of IGNOU's Staff Training and Research Institute of Distance Education (STRIDE) said "The program helps the hearing-impaired to make their life better, both socially and financially”.
